Apple heeft zojuist iOS 13.6 uitgebracht, iPadOS 13.6 en WatchOS 6.2.8. De nieuwe versie bevat twee nieuwe functies die voornamelijk in het buitenland gebruikt kunnen worden; Carkey (autosleutel via je i-device) en Apple News met audio verhalen. Verder bevat deze update de volgende verbeteringen:
- Updates kunnen nu automatisch worden gedownload, met de optie om deze niet automatisch te laten installeren.
- iOS 13.6 lost een probleem op waardoor apps mogelijk niet meer reageren bij het synchroniseren van gegevens van iCloud Drive
- Verhelpt een fout die ervoor zorgde dat sommige iPhone 6S- en iPhone SE-apparaten zich niet konden registreren voor bellen via Wi-Fi
- iPad: soms verscheen het toetsenbord in beeld toch ineens wanneer een hardwaretoetsenbord aangesloten was, dat is nu opgelost
- iOS 13.6 lost stabiliteitsproblemen op bij het openen van het Control Center wanneer Assistive Touch was ingeschakeld
- Er is een nieuw mechanisme voor beheerders om domeinen op te geven die moeten worden uitgesloten van verkeer dat via always-on VPN-verbindingen loopt
iOS 13.6 breidt ook de Gezondheid-app uit. Een nieuwe mogelijkheid is nu om symptomen te registreren, zoals bijv koorts, koude rillingen, keelpijn of hoesten. Het is ook mogelijk om deze te delen met apps van derden. Track je je menstruatiecyclus in de Gezondheid-app? Dan kun je met iOS 13.6 ook daar symptomen aan verbinden.

- New category for symptoms in the Health app, including symptoms logged from Cycle Tracking and ECG
- Ability to log new symptoms, like fever, chills, sore throat or coughing, and share them with third-party apps
This update also includes bug fixes and other improvements.
- Adds a new setting to choose if updates automatically download to your device when on Wi-Fi
- Addresses an issue that could cause apps to become unresponsive when syncing data from iCloud Drive
- Fixes an issue that could cause data roaming to appear to be disabled on eSIM even though it remained active
- Fixes an issue thats causes some phone calls from Saskatchewan to appear as originating from the United States
- Addresses an issue that could interrupt audio when making phone calls over Wi-Fi Calling
- Fixes an issues that prevented some iPhone 6S and iPhone SE devices from registering for Wi-Fi Calling
- Resolves an issue that could cause the software keyboard to appear unexpectedly when connected to certain third-party hardware keyboards
- Fixes an issue that could cause Japanese hardware keyboards to be incorrectly mapped as a U.S. keyboard
- Addresses stability issues when accessing Control Center when Assistive Touch was enabled
- Provides a mechanism for administrators to specify domains to exclude from traffic carried by always-on VPN connections
